‘Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night’ Is Drawing Its 2nd Largest Ever Audience

ABC’s 2017 NBA Finals Tracks as the Most Watched Overall Since 1998

ABC won Friday’s primetime by huge margins with coverage of the 2017 NBA Finals Game 4 (Golden State-Cleveland), holding an 8.5 million viewer advantage over runner-up CBS (13.3 million vs. 4.8 million) and once again more than doubled the other nets combined in Adults 18-49 (+142% – 4.6/22 vs. 1.9/9 – CBS, NBC, Fox and CW).

Airing around the NBA Finals in various time periods across the country, “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night 4” broadened the exposure for the ABC late-night talker in primetime. Through its first four broadcasts of 2017, “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night” is delivering its 2nd-most watched 4-night average(3.89 million).

With Cleveland winning the contest, ABC’s 2017 NBA Finals Game 4 dominated as Friday’s clear No. 1 TV program with an average audience of 19.0 million viewers and delivering a 6.8/30 in Adults 18-49. It was the 4th straight broadcast for the 2017 NBA Finals to stand as the definitive No. 1 TV program of the evening. The Cavaliers defeated the Warriors 137-116, bringing the Warriors’ advantage in the best-of-seven series to 3-1.

  • The NBA Finals on ABC Game 4 built year over year by 14% in Total Viewers (19.0 million vs. 16.6 million) and by 13% in Adults 18-49 (6.8/30 vs. 6.0/25).

 

  • On average through 4 games, the 2017 NBA Finals is up over the same point last year in Total Viewers (+11% – 19.4 million vs. 17.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (+8% – 7.0/28 vs. 6.5/23), continuing to track as the most watched overall since 1998.
