Week to Week, ‘The View’ Widens Its Leads Over the CBS Program in All Key Target Demos and Year to Year, Increases Its Advantages in Total Viewers and Women 25-54

The View’ Draws Its Largest Overall Audience in Nearly 10 Months

and Posts Its Largest Season Leads Over the CBS Program
in Total Viewers and Women 25-54 in 5 Years

ABC’s “The View” averaged 2.951 million Total Viewers, 488,000 Women 25-54 and 318,000 Women 18-49 during the week of November 20, 2017, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “The View” beat CBS’ “The Talk” (2.589 million, 373,000 and 247,000, respectively) during the week in Total Viewers (+362,000), Women 25-54 (+115,000) and Women 18-49 (+71,000).

“The View” widened its leads over CBS’ “The Talk” week to week in Total Viewers (+18% – 362,000 vs. 306,000), Women 25-54 (+58% – 115,000 vs. 73,000) and Women 18-49 (+82% – 71,000 vs. 39,000).

“The View” increased its advantages over CBS’ “The Talk” year to year in Total Viewers (+27% – 362,000 vs. 285,000) and Women 25-54 (+13% – 115,000 vs. 102,000).

“The View” was up week to week in Total Viewers (+1% – 2.951 million vs. 2. 909 million), drawing its largest overall audience in nearly 10 months – since w/o 1/30/17.

Season to date, “The View” leads CBS’ “The Talk” across the board, increasing its advantages from the same point last season in Total Viewers (347,000 vs. 181,000), Women 25-54 (116,000 vs. 50,000) and Women 18-49 (72,000 vs. 68,000). In fact, “The View” is posting its largest season leads over the CBS program in Total Viewers and Women 25-54 in 5 years – since the 2012-13 season.

NOTE:With Thanksgiving week, “The View” was coded as specials on Thursday and Friday, and the “The Talk” was coded as a special on Thursday. “The Talk” did not air on Friday for college football. All specials are excluded from the weekly averages. ABC’s and CBS’ weekly averages are based on three days (Monday–Wednesday).
