“ABC World News Tonight” Saturday and Sunday provides viewers the latest news and analysis of major events from around the country and around the world on the weekend. The broadcast draws upon an award-winning team of correspondents, producers and off-air reporters stationed around the globe. With unparalleled resources, ABC News and “ABC World News Tonight” bring the day’s top stories into clear focus each weekend night.

The weekend editions of ABC’s evening newscast premiered on January 5, 1985 and January 28, 1979, respectively. In March 2015, Cecilia Vega and Tom Llamas were named co-anchors of the broadcast with Vega anchoring Saturday and Llamas on Sunday. From February 2011 to August 2014, Anchor David Muir was sole anchor of the weekend broadcasts, which were re-titled “ABC World News with David Muir.” The weekend broadcasts have received numerous awards, including two Edward R. Murrow Awards.

“ABC World News Tonight” Saturday and Sunday originates from ABC News Headquarters in New York, with feeds at 6:00 and 6:30 p.m., ET. Almin Karamehmedovic serves as the executive producer for both “ABC World News Tonight with David Muir” and “ABC World News Tonight” Saturday and Sunday.”
